Since the start of August, 45 New England prospects have committed to Division 3 college programs.
As a refresher, D3 programs can not offer any athletic scholarship money. Financial aid packages rely strictly on academic merit, financial aid, or need-based grants. So, in many cases, these commitments signify an athlete's intention to apply for early admission to the college.
In the new era of the transfer portal, it has become fairly common for D3 players to transfer to D1 programs, and vice versa. As such, the level of play at the D3 level has improved from its already high standard.
Here is a look at 16 Massachusetts prospects in the Class of 2027 who committed to D3 programs since our last report on Aug. 5.
