It began with a discussion with UMass-Dartmouth coach Bob Prince, and a coaching position in the Cape League followed.
Tabor Academy coach Matt Karis knew Prince through his son, Ben, an All-ISL shortstop who played for Karis and is now playing at the University of Maine.
Prince and Karis talked about the possibility of coaching in the Cape Cod Baseball League. It was no secret that Karis had been yearning for an opportunity to work inside the CCBL. Prince has been active within the prestigious summer league as the Director of Officiating.
"Bob knew I was looking to get involved in the league and connected me with Ted Lekas, who is the Senior Deputy Commissioner, and CCBL Commissioner John Castleberry, whom I was able to interview with,'' said Karis.
