This past week felt like a significant one in Connecticut. For the state’s three biggest conferences (the FCIAC, SCC and CCC), there’s now only one week left in the regular season. The race to make the playoffs in those three leagues are tight, as are the rankings that decide the state tournament fields in the CIAC’s four classes. A lot will be decided this upcoming week.
Which meant this past week felt a little like “Moving Day” at the Masters — the moment for teams to make a push that sets themselves up for the final stretch. And a few prominent programs did just that, and they were powered by some standout performers.
That’s what we’re highlighting in this story — the standout individuals from the past week in the CIAC. This isn’t a definitive list, but rather a collection of players that had big weeks that you should know about. The reporting does not include Monday’s games (May 11).
