Mount Anthony Union High School is tucked away in the southwestern corner of Vermont, meaning a trip to New York or Massachusetts is right around the corner.
The Mount Anthony baseball team has taken advantage of that with matchups against out-of-state opponents, with six of their 14 games being played against out-of-state teams.
MAU still has three of those games remaining, but among the three the Patriots have played so far, they have gone 2-1. Two of those opponents, Pittsfield (13-2) and Taconic (9-4), have serious contending hopes in their own right in the Bay State. MAU is hoping those change-of-pace games prove to be beneficial when it plays important in-state games.
