Colchester has been one of the most consistently strong teams in Division I for a long time. The Lakers have won at least 10 games every season since 2015, and they have just one losing season since 2008, the season that Tom Perry took over the team.
The one thing that has eluded Colchester, despite all this success, is a state championship. The Lakers have been to the finals twice in their history, most recently in 2018, a two-run loss to South Burlington, but haven’t hoisted the hardware.
This year’s Colchester team has as much potential as any in recent years to break through, but there is a large group of Division I contenders that will want a say in things.
