The ISL season is a sprint to the league tournament, with only 11 league games scheduled for each team. Six games into the regular-season schedule, it's shaping up to be a wildly competitive postseason tournament.
The top eight teams will earn championship tournament berths. In a sign of the league's parity at the top, defending champion Lawrence Academy (4-2 ISL) is currently tied for sixth. Lawrence was on the wrong end of the best prep pitching matchup of the season on Wednesday, when Nobles left-hander Luke Leger '27 (Rutgers) pitched a no-hitter with 13 strikeouts in a 2-0 win. Lawrence's ace Logan Forgie '26 (Dayton) traded zeroes with Leger through five innings before Nobles (6-0) scratched across two runs -- only one of which was earned. Forgie's final line included 13 strikeouts, three shy of his season-high of 16 against BB&N.
Wednesday's ISL slate also saw the other two undefeated ISL teams (in addition to Nobles) face off, with Belmont Hill outlasting St. Mark's, 5-4. So, only Belmont Hill and Nobles remain undefeated with a huge league matchup scheduled for Saturday, April 25, at Nobles.
Here are five hot takes leading into the home stretch of the season.
