The Major League Baseball season is long. With 162 games to play, a team can work its way through ups and downs.
In high school baseball, it’s a whole different reality. The season is much more a sprint than the marathon that is the major league season.
For a long time, Vermont high school baseball teams played 16 games in the regular season in preparation for a playoff run. That has changed this year with the decision to shave off two games for a 14-game regular season. The change means that every game will mean all the more as teams battle for playoff seeding.
