Salisbury School transfer Francis Connors-Schmid played his freshman season at Taconic Hills High (Craryville, N.Y.), earning team MVP honors.
Last summer, as a member of Canes Baseball, Conners-Schmid playing on the national championship team at the WWBA National Championship in Fort Myers, Fla. He was named Perfect Game Breakout Player of the Year, invited to participate in the PG Select Fest and PG National Showcase, among a host of other events.
A left-hander, Connors-Schmid plays outfield, first base, and pitcher. He stands 6-foot-2, 215 pounds.
"I think winning the championship at the WWBA event might have been one of the most dominant performances by a team in that tournament's history,'' said Connors-Schmid. "We won every game, throwing two no-hitters and one perfect game. We only gave up four runs the entire tournament and under 10 hits total. I knew it was our last tournament of the year, and we had to win. We had gotten so close a few times before, and we just had to do it finally.''
