Ryan Jaillet will never forget his parents' high school graduation gift.
The recent Andover High graduate made a highlight-reel, one-handed catch while sitting in gifted seats atop the Green Monster at Fenway Park on Tuesday night, leading to his own viral moment on social media. Accounts for MLB and the Red Sox shared the athletic fan moment, documenting Jaillet's celebration with his twin brother, Chris, and 13-year-old sister, Molly.
The home run came off the bat of Trevor Story in the seventh inning of a 10-2 victory over the Colorado Rockies. Jaillet, who will play at Bowdoin College next year, looked every bit the part of a future college baseball player, smoothly reeling in the bomb with one hand. NESN color commentator Lou Merloni remarked that Jaillet looked "like he does it for a living."
Jaillet and his brother, Chris, recently completed legendary baseball careers at Andover High. The twins formed one of the best pitcher-catcher batteries in the state for the past few seasons. Chris will pitch at Amherst College, while Ryan will catch at Bowdoin.
