The marquee recruiting showcase of the fall season, the 18U Perfect Game WWBA World Championship, will be played Oct. 9 to 13 in Jupiter, Fla. Three New England-based teams — the Boston Red Sox Scout Team, NEB Rays National, and Clubhouse Evoshield – earned entries among the 121 teams from across the nation.
Power Four coaches flood the area to either get a look at their commitments or see if there are any late fits for their respective programs. Alongside them are Major League Baseball amateur scouts, scouring for potential high-round, high school draft picks.
The North East Baseball team will be coached by the program's director, Scott Patterson. The team is comprised primarily of New England prospects, and also includes natives of Pennsylvania, Florida, Puerto Rico, and Ohio.
