Cody Doyle carved out his own niche with the Trinity-Pawling baseball program over the last seven years.
When it was announced that Deerfield Academy was in search of a new head coach due to former coach Pat Moriarty's move to Masters Academy, Doyle inquired. Earlier this month, he was handed the keys as the Big Green's new baseball leader.
"Leaving Trinity-Pawling was extremely difficult for me and my family,'' said Doyle. "When you live and work at a boarding school, it really becomes a part of who you are, and I could not be more grateful for my seven years at Trinity-Pawling. This decision had nothing to do with Trinity-Pawling and everything to do with the fact that I felt like this opportunity at Deerfield was something I could not pass up.''
Raised in Avon, Conn., Doyle spent four years at Avon Old Farms, playing hockey and baseball. He went on to have a successful four-year baseball career at Sacred Heart University as a catcher. Doyle was a member of the 2015 Northeast Conference championship team, which earned an automatic bid to the NCAA Division 1 Baseball Tournament. Doyle spent his summers playing in the Futures League, Coastal Plain League, and NECBL. After graduating, Doyle spent a season with the Salina Stockade of the Can-Am League.
