Ben Reinisch confirmed Wednesday that he expects to serve as the interim head coach at Phillips Andover for the entire spring season.
Reinisch is a 2015 graduate of Phillips Andover who played college baseball at Trinity College, where he was part of a 2019 team that reached the NCAA D3 Regional Final. He has five years of experience as a NEPSAC assistant coach, splitting time between Milton Academy, Noble and Greenough, and Phillips Andover.
Reinisch will replace -- at least temporarily -- one of the most accomplished prep school coaches in New England, Kevin Graber, who left the school in January for personal reasons. Graber said at the time that he was dealing with a family health issue. Phillips Academy Chief Communications Officer Tracy Sweet issued a statement at the time: "There has been no change made to the head coaching position. Kevin has stepped away from campus for personal reasons."
Sweet did not respond to a request for comment about the specifics of the "interim" tag on Reinisch's job title.
