The Division 1A/Super 8 tournament will return to Massachusetts in the spring of 2027, after the MIAA Board of Directors approved the vote by a 21-3 margin on Wednesday.
The Board of Directors' vote marked the final box to check in the process. The MIAA baseball committee voted on Jan. 13 to approve an "All-State" tournament by a count of 14-1.
The MIAA suspended the popular Division 1A/Super 8 tournament for four years in April of 2021, as the MIAA Tournament Management Committee gathered data to ensure equity.
Several prominent coaches, including Walpole High coach Chris Costello and Braintree High coach Bill O’Connell have advocated for bringing back the Super 8 tournament on The Base Path Podcast.
