NATICK, Mass. — It didn't seem like Thurston Kiefer's day at first.
Natick's junior ace hit the first batter he faced before walking the next. A single and a passed ball later, and the Redhawks were down a pair before even recording their first out. A sacrifice fly made for a three-run first inning for No. 3 Braintree.
After that, it was all Kiefer.
The right-hander retired 17 straight batters before escaping a seventh-inning jam to keep Natick's hopes alive. Moments later, it was Kiefer scoring the winning run from second for the 4-3 final to complete a wild No. 8 Redhawks comeback.
