NATICK, Mass. — Natick caught a break.
Down a run in the bottom of the fourth, Jack Weierman belted a fly ball to deep right-center, taking second as Hopkinton's Matt Pedroli couldn't haul it in. Weierman eventually came around to tie it on Thurston Kiefer's sac-fly.
The Hillers gave the Redhawks an inch, and from there, they took a mile.
An inning later, Natick exploded for five more runs to blow the game open. The No. 9 Redhawks never looked back en route to a 6-3 win in the MIAA Division 1 Round of 32.
Kiefer earned the win on the mound for Natick (16-5), striking out 10 and scattering four hits and two walks across six one-run innings. He also finished with two RBIs. Luke Dougherty and Landon Sullivan each had a pair of hits, while Weierman and Jacques had an RBI apiece.
Here's a full recap, as well as eight standouts from the game.
