There was a changing of the guard in the Founders League this season, as Kingswood Oxford ended Avon Old Farms' two-year reign as league champion.
Kingswood Oxford won its first championship in the four-year history of the postseason tournament by beating Taft School 10-6 in the championship game. Taft scored the upset of the tournament in the semifinal when it took down Avon Old Farms, a loaded squad that finished as the No. 2 team in New England.
Founders League coaches recently met to select end-of-season awards, which include Player of the Year, Pitcher of the Year, Coach of the Year, Underclass Player of the Year, and Underclass Pitcher of the Year. They also selected First Team, Second Team and Honorable Mention All-Founders League.
