Five New England natives have been selected to the Northeast regional team’s roster for the Area Code Underclass Games.
MLB scouts have selected 200 of the top high school prospects in the nation to compete for eight regional teams in a five-day showcase in Long Beach, Calif., from Aug. 1 to 5. Scouts from all 30 Major League teams and top NCAA coaches will be in attendance.
The Northeast team's roster includes 21 players from the Class of 2027 and five players from the Class of 2028. Of the five New Englanders, three are from Massachusetts and one each from Connecticut and Rhode Island. Two of the New England prospects are in the Class of 2028.
