The playoffs are around the corner. Just a few more days remain in the MIAA regular season. While most teams will have wrapped up their schedules by this weekend, a few stragglers have their regular-season finales set for Monday, which is the MIAA's cut-off.
From there, the brackets will release on Wednesday, and it'll be an all-out sprint to Polar Park with the state finals set for June 12 and 13. Each of the five divisions boasts plenty of contenders toward the top of the MIAA's power rankings, which determine playoff seeding. That's especially true in Division 1. After top-ranked BC High, it's wide open.
So, what about the teams headed toward lower seeds? Who could make some noise?
Here are five Division 1 teams outside the top 10 in the MIAA power rankings as of May 19 that could challenge when the postseason kicks off next week.
