Kingswood Oxford earned its first Founders League Tournament championship in school history on Wednesday with a 10-6 victory over Taft School in the championship game.
Will Parkhouse '26 pitched Kingswood Oxford (12-5) to victory and collected two RBI. The Wyvern advanced to the Founders League championship by beating Choate Rosemary Hall 2-1 in a marathon, 14-inning affair in the semifinal. Taft pulled off the upset of the tournament with a 6-5 win over Avon Old Farms in the other semifinal matchup. Avon Old Farms entered the tournament as the No. 1 team in New England and a two-time defending Founders League champion.
Parkhouse pitched seven innings in the championship game, allowing four earned runs on eight hits. He walked three and struck out three. All Founders League Tournament games are nine-inning contests. Fairfield University commit Harrison Engle '25 earned a save by striking out the side in the ninth.
Another Fairfield commit, Boden Swanson '25, paced the Kingswood Oxford offense by going 2 for 4 with a double, walk, RBI, and run scored. Dom Trolio was 1 for 4 with a double, walk, two runs scored, and an RBI. Colton Bowes was 2 for 4 with an RBI and a run scored.
